If I had to rank my favorite holidays of the year, they would go in this order:
1. Christmas
2. My birthday
3. Valentine's Day
I know it's totally commercialized, but I love everything about it! I've never considered it to be all about romantic love, so I've never been sad and lonely. Every year, I'd wake up to goodies and pink, red and white decor set out by my mom. And for years I would receive flowers at school or my after school job from my dad. It's just so much fun!
I can't wait to start new traditions with my sweet man...
Gotta go iron my pink shirt to get ready for tomorrow!

"That little spot on the ground is my hometown" Indigo Girls
When you get a call at 8:00 in the morning on a Saturday asking if you'd like to go flying for a bit that day, you say yes...especially when this is your alternative.
I met my Dad and his friend, Art, at Falcon Field in Peachtree City at 10:30 and after a quick stop by a store that sells airplane stuff {apparently a big deal, and it's in PTC...who knew?} we were off! My Dad was current with his license when I was growing up, so I'm no stranger to small planes, but when you're young, you have no inhibitions...and I have to be honest, I was a little nervous. And by nervous, I mean nauseous.
The headwinds made it pretty choppy and we had to stay below a certain altitude to stay out of Hartsfield's airspace which made it impossible to get into smooth air {I'm sure there's an official aviation term for that}.
Several times, I've seriously considered pursuing a pilot's license. There are pilots in my family who make it sound so enticing. My real motivation? I always liked the idea of being able to hop on a plane and head to the beach for the day {come next January, I won't need a plane for that!} Money made it not an option, but maybe one day! Matt plans to get his captain's license in 2009, so maybe one day I'll have my pilot's and we can conquer the world!
