"Ain't nothin' so precious as a first born child" Sammy Kershaw

Still waiting at the hospital...blogging is the only thing I can think to do. We've still only seen her through glass and haven't gotten to see Mandy yet, but everyone is healthy! Olivia is just precious. 8lbs. 7oz. 20 1/2 inches...born at 1:22 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2009.

These are some of my favorite shots. In no particular order!

cute little rolls! (that's just soap on her if any of you were disgusted...)

Update :: The next day...I finally get to hold her!

"Honestly, won't someone stop this train" John Mayer

I have to be honest, these pictures sum up my Saturdays lately. The morning usually looks like this:

Words in {brackets} depict my actions; "quotes" depict my thoughts.

8:00 {Wake up} "Get up and work out"

8:10 "Check your email first to give yourself time to wake up" {Grab computer to check email, blogs and Twitter}

8:15 "Oh yeah, you were going to check out that [blog, dress, centerpiece idea, DIY project, band, color scheme, caterer, bridal show...] someone told you about" {Grab bridal magazines laying beside the bed and open Firefox to begin the cycle...usually start at Once Wed to check for any new dresses...}

10:52 {After over 2 hours of surfing the web, decide it's time to start wrapping it up} "Get up NOW and work out before lunch...where did breakfast go? Oh well, I usually have cereal for breakfast and lunch anyway, so what's the difference?"

11:00 {Check school email and 'CourseDen' to refresh my memory on any upcoming assignments} "Dang it, I meant to get started on that [paper, project, assignment, reading] yesterday."

11:15 {Begin school assignment}

11:20 {Remember there was another wedding website someone told me about. Dive into the endless pit of wedding blogs again}

12:00 "HOLY CRAP! GET OUT OF THE FREAKING BED!!!" {Get up, stumble over one of the two new bridal magazines I got yesterday and sit back down to flip through} "You have 10 minutes to look through the magazine."

12:30 "This is ridiculous, Jessica" {Change into work out clothes. Grab a wedding mag, head to the kitchen and eat a bowl of cereal...Bran Flakes, but only because I polished off the box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch yesterday} "Once you have finished looking through the pictures, you HAVE to go work out"

1:00 {To the basement, on the treadmill}

1:20 "I'm bored." {Grab free weights. Triceps, biceps.} "Bored."

1:26 {Squats. Lunges.} "Bored."

1:36 {On the floor for some ab work...nah, that's never fun.}

1:37 "Wow! Look at the time! I need to get this day started..."

1:40 {Upstairs to take a shower...distracted by the mess in my room...begin to clean it up and come across yet another Bridal magazine...see a picture of something, find the website...start cycle over again}

I could go on, but it only gets worse..is there a cure for this?? It's exhausting :)

{Insert Celine Dion lyrics here} Celine Dion

(All of my creative energies have been zapped by wedding-related research overload, can't think of a song title)

Since Christmas, I've been in a whirlwind of school, work and wedding...okay, a little more wedding than the other two. I wanted to let the last blog post sit there for a while so it could really sink in for me and I think it finally is. We're SO excited and have only 52 weeks to go!! Matt and I decided to count down by weeks because it sounds a little less daunting than counting by months for some reason...

We're set on getting married in Athens because it's where we met and that's special (and, honestly, dealing with churches around here was both discouraging and annoying). I'm heading to the Classic City today with my mom, cousin Joanna and Aunt Holly to a Bridal Show at the Foundry. Not sure how many grooms will be there, but since mine won't be, I'm armed with my new camera and flip video to document all the details for him.

In other news, I got a last minute ticket to see Celine Dion last night!! My FSIL and FMIL (I'll let you figure out what that means...wedding blogs and website have thrown me into a world of acronyms and abbreviations like you wouldn't believe) called me to let me know their friend couldn't make it and I was on my way! I don't care if you hate her music or not (I happen to L.O.V.E. her) She is incredibly talented. And incredibly quirky...and she wasn't wearing her wedding ring. Should we be worried?
